Afrobeats producer Magicsticks continues to cement his place as one of the genre’s most influential hitmakers. Known for his rich percussion-heavy sound, he has created unforgettable records for several African stars, with his partnership with Nigerian singer Asake standing out as one of the most successful collaborations in recent years.
Their chemistry is once again evident on Asake’s latest album, M$NEY, where Magicsticks handled production on eight of the project’s thirteen tracks. Speaking with OkayAfrica, the producer described Asake as an artist with a clear vision and strong sense of purpose throughout the making of the album.
“Asake understands exactly what he wants, and he approached this project with intention,” Magicsticks explained. “He wasn’t trying to overcomplicate things he simply wanted to express himself in a direct and honest way. The album really reflects his current state as an artist.”
